Leading in Complex Environments

Leading in Complex Environments is a workshop designed for professionals who want to better understand the different environments in which they lead projects. In complex social environments, it is essential to recognize the type of system you are dealing with.

The workshop focuses on how different environments influence organizational structures, decision-making, and communication, as well as on selecting more appropriate tools to set direction and lead effectively.

The workshop is delivered using LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® materials and methodology.

The workshop offers a real taste of the MBA program at ZSEM – combining interactivity, practical tools, and experience sharing.

Following the workshop, there will be a presentation of the MBA program, during which you will have the opportunity to meet ZSEM’s management team, MBA concentration leaders, and other staff members. They will present all aspects of the program and answer your questions.

Dr. Mirna Koričan Lajtman

Dr. Mirna Koričan Lajtman holds a degree in Psychology and is an alumna of the MBA program at the Zagreb School of Economics and Management. She earned her PhD at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, focusing on work–life challenges and their impact on stress and job performance. She gained international experience at leading institutions, including John Carroll University and St. Ambrose University in the United States, as well as IESE Business School in Spain.

She is a leading expert in human resource management, Academic Director of the ZSEM Business Academy, and a strong advocate of innovative approaches to education, including gamification and the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology, in which she serves as a trained facilitator of LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method and materials. She is the creator of the NewsHR application and the author and co-author of numerous academic and professional publications and books in the fields of management and human resource management. She currently works as a consultant on EU-funded projects focused on human capital development.

Dr. Goran Oblaković

Dr. Goran Oblaković is Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies at the Zagreb School of Economics and Management, where he teaches management courses at undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and executive education levels. At ZSEM, he also serves as Head of the Executive MBA Program and Head of the Department of Management, Entrepreneurship, and Digital Transformation, and is a certified and trained facilitator of LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method and materials.

He earned his PhD in Management from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. He completed his Master’s degrees in Strategic Finance (MSSF) and Business Administration (MBA), as well as his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, at Indiana University Southeast in the United States. He gained extensive international experience working in logistics, consulting, and international organizations.

He is a visiting lecturer at several international business schools, and his academic and professional interests include strategic management, risk and operations management, banking, and entrepreneurship.
