The Zagreb School of Economics and Management achieved international AACSB accreditation in 2013 and became the first Croatian AACSB accredited business school. Thus, it entered the community of 5% of the best business schools in the world and confirmed the position of the leading business school in Croatia.
The AACSB accredited school community includes renowned universities around the world such as Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Columbia University and the University of St. Gallen, whose standards have been reached and confirmed by the Zagreb School of Economics and Management.
In 2019, ZSEM confirms its place among the 5% of the best business schools in the world by achieving all the highly set criteria in the re-accreditation process.
The Zagreb School of Economics and Management is included in the top 200 MBA programs in the world and is among the top 60 MBA programs in Europe.
QS ranking is based on the ratings of 200,000 academics, who rate the academic reputation of universities around the world, and 20,620 employers, who rate their grades based on the quality of the alumni of individual studies.
The French portal Eduniversal declared the Zagreb School of Economics and Management the best business school in Croatia for 13 years in a row.
At the Eduniversal World Convention 2018, the Zagreb School of Economics and Management was named the third best business school in Eastern Europe. We are proud to point out that according to this research, ZSEM is not only the best business school in Croatia, but it is also the only one included in category 4 Palms, which represents the excellence of business schools with significant international influence.
The Agency for Science and Higher Education has been conducting the second re-accreditation cycle of higher education institutions and universities since 2017. The Expert panel visited ZSEM from November 26-27.
According to the reports of the Expert Panel, the Zagreb School of Economics and Management is the best-rated institutions among private and public business schools and faculties in the field of economics in Croatia!
The Expert Panel evaluates according to 5 quality standards:
The Expert Panel assessed as many as three of the five standards as a high level of quality, and two standards as a satisfactory level of quality, making ZSEM the best in Croatia according to the sum of assessments of quality standards.
The Zagreb School of Economics and Management has thus fulfilled all the conditions for performing higher education activities and scientific activities determined by the Law on Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education!

The Zagreb School of Economics and Management received the highest grade of ADVANCED LEVEL for its Quality assurance system! Thus, ZSEM is the best graded higher education institution in the Republic of Croatia in the external independent evaluation of the Quality assurance system.
The audit was conducted by the Agency for Science and Higher Education (ASHE). Its international Expert Panel visited ZSEM in September 2020.
The Expert Panel benchmarked ZSEM’s Quality assurance system against the existing Croatian and European standards.
After twelve years of creating a Quality assurance system, ZSEM has reached an enviable level and once again confirmed its leading position as the best business school in Croatia.
Edda Apfenthaler, President of the Quality Committee, emphasized: “ZSEM was received the highest grades of advanced level according to
all audit criteria including quality policy, planning and management, implementation and monitoring, evaluation and improvement, innovation and impact.”
Dean Mato Njavro pointed out: “The School has been committed to quality since the beginning, and excellent results would not be possible without the teamwork of all employees and stakeholders.”
