Can artificial intelligence become the greatest driver of economic growth—or the greatest societal challenge of our time? Will Europe succeed in keeping pace with the global technological race, and what role can Croatia and the wider region play in shaping this future?
These questions will be at the heart of the inaugural EUonAIR AI Summit, one of the most significant international events dedicated to artificial intelligence, taking place on 6–7 July 2026 at the Zagreb School of Economics and Management (ZSEM).
The EUonAIR AI Summit is an exclusive invitation-only event, bringing together invited guests from academia, industry, the public sector, and international institutions.
The summit will welcome two Nobel laureates alongside leading international experts in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, economics, business, and innovation. Among the keynote speakers are Joel Mokyr, one of the world’s foremost economists and a leading authority on economic history and technological change, and John Martinis, a pioneer in quantum computing whose groundbreaking research laid the foundations for the development of quantum technologies.
They will be joined by a distinguished lineup of national and international experts, including Alessandro Aresu, Peter Gloor, Aleksandra Przegalińska, Siniša Krajnović, Vladimir Lukić, Ralf Dillerup, Marin Njavro, Mato Njavro, Nataša Rapaić, Gordan Pešić, and Stefano Gison.
Over the course of the two-day programme, participants will explore the impact of artificial intelligence on the economy, labour markets, education, and public policy. Discussions will also focus on the development of responsible AI solutions, Europe’s role in the global technological race, and the opportunities that emerging technologies create for Croatia and the wider region.
The EUonAIR AI Summit is part of the activities of EUonAIR – European University on AI in Curricula, Smart UniverCity and (Return) Mobility, a European alliance of ten universities working together to develop a new model of higher education based on the responsible use of artificial intelligence, international collaboration, and innovation.
