MBA students from US consulting Croatian companies

For a second consecutive year, ZSEM and the ZSEM Business Academy hosted a program in collaboration with the Robins School of Business (University of Richmond), one of the best business schools in the United States. During the one-week program, which took place from May 26 – June 1, the group of 20 students attended various lectures at ZSEM that were delivered by experts from different business fields. The covered topics gave them a concrete overview of the Croatian labor market, Croatia’s economic situation and the impact of American companies on the Croatian economy.

The core part of the program, however, was the International Consultancy Project that students had to develop for selected Croatian companies. Through this, they had the chance to work with local businesses and start-ups and help them explore market opportunities, develop business plans, conduct feasibility studies, or explore other relevant issues.

MBA student Jonathan Price applauded the entire experience: “From start to finish, this has been a great experience.  The food, cultural activities, and lectures from outstanding academic/business people has left me with a favorable impression of Croatia that will last a lifetime.”

The group also had the opportunity to visit several Croatian companies: Rimac Automobili d.o.o., the Croatian National Bank, the local Režek winery on Pleševica, the Dverce Palace where they had a special welcome dinner, as well as a visit to Plitvice Lakes National Park.

Program participant Collin Witte commented the UNESCO World Heritage Site saying: “No description I could provide would adequately describe the grandeur of that place.”
