ZSEM is organizing an MBA Program Scholarship Competition where it will award three scholarships for the Global Executive MBA program based on motivation, work experience and case study.

The workshop will be led by Marin Jovanović, PhD, an associate professor at the department of operations management at Copenhagen Business School, a visiting scientist at Luleå University of Technology and visiting professor of the Global Executive MBA program at the Zagreb School of Economics and Management.

Winners of the Executive MBA Scholarship Competition

At the Zagreb School of Economics and Management, the Executive MBA Scholarship Competition was successfully held. Participants showcased their skills, motivation, work experience, and engaged in a workshop and a case study. The workshop was led by Professor Marin Jovanović, Ph.D., and the selection among many exceptional candidates came down to fine details.

The winners of the competition are:

  1. Davor Janković – awarded a 50% scholarship for the EMBA or GEMBA program
  2. Petra Radić – awarded a 30% scholarship for the EMBA or GEMBA program
  3. Tomislav Tomašić – awarded a 30% scholarship for the EMBA or GEMBA program

Marin Jovanović

Dr. Marin Jovanović is an Associate Professor in the Department of Operations Management at Copenhagen Business School and a visiting researcher at Luleå University of Technology. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics and Management from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in Industrial Management (cum laude) from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. His research, focused on digital transformation, platform ecosystems, and artificial intelligence, has been published in leading academic journals. He has also collaborated with ESADE Business School and the University of Cambridge, and is a visiting professor in the Global Executive MBA program at ZSEM.

Scholarships for Executive MBA Program

The graduate MBA program of the Zagreb School of Economics and Management is the first AACSB-accredited Croatian business school and the only Croatian MBA program ranked in the world-famous QS Global MBA ranking. According to the QS ranking, it is included in the prestigious top 200 MBA programs in the world and among the top 60 MBAs in Europe.

Executive MBA program (60 ECTS)

The Executive MBA was designed for candidates with at least three years of experience who wanted to acquire new skills. Following the example of the world’s best programs, the MBA provides a unique opportunity for weekend training without neglecting business and family obligations. The program consists of two parts: compulsory subjects and writing a diploma thesis. The dynamism of the program was implemented through a combination of 50% lectures and 50% group assignments on an online platform (LMS). Students are challenged to think about current and future management and business challenges. Their skills are developed across multiple dimensions, including development strategy, organizational behavior, and leadership of ethical companies. Students simultaneously develop their skills and knowledge through practical projects during their studies.

Global Executive MBA program (60 ECTS)

The Global Executive MBA program is conducted in cooperation with H-FARM College. The program is intended for people from middle and upper management with at least three years of work experience who want to perfect and improve their business processes with new knowledge of business management acquired through the course. Lectures are held every other weekend (Friday afternoons and Saturdays) for participants to balance their desire for additional education with numerous business and private commitments. The Global Executive MBA program brings together lecturers with extensive business and academic international experience. These are lecturers from ZSEM, H-FARM College, Luxembourg Business School, Stevens Institute of Technology from New York, and Singapore. The program is intended for those who want to develop a successful global career.

  • How to get scholarships?
    1. Fill out the application and attach your resume and cover letter by July, 1st, 2024.
    2. Participate in the Executive MBA Program Scholarship Competition which will be held on Thursday, December 12th, 2024, from 4 pm to 9 pm at the Zagreb School of Economics and Management
      1. Active participation in a workshop where a business case will be worked on in teams. The Expert Committee will assess each individual’s contribution within the team and, taking into account motivation and work experience, select the competition winners.

  • Case Study

    This case explores how the Dollar Shave Club (DSC) made a bold entry into the shaving industry, challenging the long-established dominance of traditional players. Without relying on patents, DSC introduced a unique business model centered around direct-to-consumer subscriptions and customer engagement. Their approach involved outsourcing many aspects of their business, from manufacturing razors and blades to handling complementary products, digital services, and shipping.

    • Completed a study of a minimum of 240 ECTS credits
    • At least three years of work experience
    • Professional use of English
