The Zagreb School of Economics and Management successfully hosted this year’s Executive MBA Scholarship Competition, where candidates demonstrated their knowledge, ambition, and professional experience while participating in an interactive workshop and solving a challenging business case. The workshop was led by Professor Marin Jovanović, PhD, an internationally recognized expert in operations management and digital transformation. Professor Jovanović earned his PhD from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and a doctorate in industrial management (cum laude) from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. His research has been published in leading international journals such as Organization Science, the Journal of Product Innovation Management, and Technovation. Throughout his career, he has worked at ESADE Business School and the University of Cambridge, and he currently teaches in ZŠEM’s Global Executive MBA program.

The Zagreb School of Economics and Management (ZSEM) invites candidates to apply for scholarships for the Executive MBA program and the Global Executive MBA program. The three most successful candidates will be awarded scholarships based on their motivation, previous professional experience, and solutions to the business challenge prepared for the competition.
This year’s competition theme will be “Building Sustainable Industrial Ecosystems: A Cyber-Physical Perspective”, and the competition will be led by Dr. Marin Jovanović, Associate Professor at the Department of Operations Management at Copenhagen Business School, Visiting Researcher at Luleå University of Technology, and Visiting Professor of the Global Executive MBA program at ZSEM.

Dr. Jovanović is an expert in operations management and digital transformation, with extensive experience in international academic and business environments. He earned his PhD at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and a second PhD in Industrial Management (cum laude) at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. His research has been published in leading journals, including Organization Science, Journal of Product Innovation Management, and Technovation.
His research interests include the application of digital technologies in manufacturing, maritime, and healthcare sectors, the development of platform ecosystems in business-to-business contexts, and the implementation of artificial intelligence in management. Throughout his career, he has worked at ESADE Business School and the University of Cambridge, and he currently teaches in ZSEM’s Global Executive MBA program.
