My name is Enrino Škiljan, I come from Crikvenica, and I am a third-year student at the Zagreb School of Economics and Management. I chose this program because I have long been drawn to entrepreneurship, creating new ideas, and turning those ideas into real projects. I have always known that I want to pursue my own business in the future and eventually build my own company, so I saw my studies as a place where I could combine knowledge, practical experience, and like-minded people.
Alongside my studies, I strive to stay active and gain experience beyond the classroom. I currently work at the startup AthleteSync as a Marketing Coordinator, where I have the opportunity to learn what it is like to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment, as well as how important adaptability, initiative, and teamwork are. Experiences like these further confirm that what motivates me most is creating something new and having the feeling that my work can make a real, even if small, impact on the world.
An important part of my personal development has been international programs, through which I had the opportunity to learn and experience different cultures. Through ZSEM, I participated in two summer schools – one in Chengdu at SWUFE and another in Istanbul at Aydın University – and next semester I will spend my Erasmus exchange in Paris at ESSEC Business School.
These experiences have been incredibly valuable, as they broadened my perspective on education, business, and the opportunities that exist beyond my immediate environment. They also showed me how important it is to stay open to new ideas, people, and challenges.
I applied to the EUonAIR competition together with my colleague Josip Tomašković, and together we developed the idea for FrameShield AI. It is a project focused on detecting manipulative patterns in financial content on social media, with the goal of helping users pause, reflect, and critically evaluate content before making impulsive decisions. The project is designed as a transparent and explainable tool that does not censor content or determine what is “true” or “false,” but instead provides users with a signal and a clear explanation of why something may be potentially risky or manipulative.
What was especially important to me about FrameShield AI is that the project brings together several areas I am passionate about – entrepreneurship, digital products, communication, and social responsibility. In developing the project, we focused on user control, transparency, privacy, and explainability, and the concept includes a “Why?” panel that shows users which words or patterns triggered the alert and why it is important to further verify the context.
Participating in EUonAIR was an extremely valuable experience for me, as it further taught me how important collaboration, persistence, and the willingness to continuously improve an idea are. Winning the competition was a significant milestone and strong confirmation that we are thinking in the right direction. Beyond the sense of pride, it also brought a greater sense of responsibility and motivation to continue developing ideas that have real value and can contribute to positive change.
If I had to summarize what drives me the most, I would say it is the desire to work on things that have meaning. It does not always have to be a big change – sometimes a small idea, a small step, or a small contribution is enough to help someone make a decision, open a new perspective, or inspire action. That is where I find my greatest motivation to keep moving forward.
