ZSEM Joins Prestigious EU University Alliance

On this day, when we celebrate the anniversary of Croatia joining the European Union, we are delighted to announce that Zagreb School of Economics and Management is joining a prestigious European University Alliance initiative – European Commission’s flagship project for universities and higher education institutions in Europe.

Our Alliance – EUonAIR – has received the highest rating from the European Commission for its project proposal under the “European Universities 2024 Erasmus+” initiative. EUonAIR will receive €14.4 million in funding to enhance education through artificial intelligence across Europe.

The EUonAIR consortium will undertake a unique research and scientific project introducing AI into education and university management across Europe. The goal is to develop the virtual campus MyAI and create innovative solutions to promote AI-based education and support open research and innovation. The project also includes collaboration with cities for smart and green solutions and raising awareness about AI and education. It holds significant academic, national, and international importance.

The project was highly praised by the European Commission, which recognized the potential for creating a new type of university, implementing AI processes in higher education inclusively and ethically, and addressing the skills gap necessary for Europe’s green and digital transformation.

The “European Universities 2024 Erasmus+” initiative is an ambitious European Union effort aimed at establishing alliances between higher education institutions, benefiting students, staff, and society. By developing long-term structural, strategic, and sustainable cooperation within European alliances, the initiative seeks to improve the international competitiveness of higher education in Europe and promote European values and identity.
