ZSEM in Shanghai: Dean Mato Njavro at the Global Sustainability Conference

ZSEM Dean Mato Njavro proudly represented ZSEM at the 2025 Sustainable Global Leaders Conference in Shanghai. The event, approved by the State Council and co-organized by the World Green Design Organization (WGDO) and Sina Group, brought together over 1,000 global leaders, academics, and business executives to discuss the theme: “Joining Hands to Address Challenges: Global Action, Innovation, and Sustainable Growth.” During the conference, Dean Njavro moderated the panel “Technological Innovation and Inclusive Technology in the Era of Globalization” alongside Petar Radanliev and Miklós Losoncz. The panelists discussed how technological advancements can drive sustainable and inclusive development worldwide.

Dean Njavro highlighted ZSEM initiatives, such as the Erasmus Mundus Master in Impact Entrepreneurship (EMMIE) program, which empowers future entrepreneurs to create social and environmental impact through innovation. He also discussed how ZSEM and its European partners leverage the EUonAIR European University Alliance to integrate artificial intelligence and sustainability into education, research, and policy. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of collaboration between China and Europe in the areas of ESG and sustainability, aiming to accelerate global progress through joint innovation, education, and policy initiatives.

During his stay in Shanghai, Dean Njavro also had the opportunity to meet ZSEM students Đani Peričić, Sven Barac, Mario Petrić, and Igor Tanovistski, who are currently studying at Tsinghua University and Zhejiang University International Business School (ZIBS) as part of their international mobility programs.
