ZSEM and the V. Gymnasium Sign a Cooperation Agreement

Zagreb School of Economics and Management and the V. Gymnasium have signed a Cooperation Agreement, establishing a foundation for long-term collaboration and strengthening the connection between secondary and higher education. The agreement aims to foster joint initiatives and create new opportunities that support pupils and students in their educational and professional development.

The V. Gymnasium, also known as the Fifth Mathematical Gymnasium, is widely recognized as one of the leading gymnasiums in Zagreb and Croatia, with a long-standing tradition of academic excellence. Its strong emphasis on analytical thinking and high educational standards aligns naturally with ZSEM’s undergraduate program in Business Mathematics and Economics, which integrates mathematical methods with economic and business decision-making.

The agreement was signed at the premises of the Fifth Gymnasium by ZSEM Dean, Professor Mato Njavro, PhD, who is himself a former pupil of the Fifth Gymnasium. This adds a special symbolic dimension to the partnership and highlights the continuity of educational excellence between the two institutions.

The signing ceremony was further enriched by the presence of ZSEM students and former pupils of the Fifth Gymnasium — Ana Ćurić, Kristijan Jakšić, Marin and Lovro Lesić, and Vjekoslav Gazzari Ujević. Their academic journeys and achievements stand as a strong testament to the quality of education provided by both institutions and serve as an inspiration to future generations.

Through this cooperation, ZSEM and the V. Gymnasium reaffirm their shared commitment to excellence, knowledge exchange, and the creation of a supportive educational environment. In the years ahead, the partnership is expected to result in a range of joint activities and initiatives that will further connect pupils, teachers, and the academic community, while opening new opportunities for future generations.
