Eight ZSEM Students Awarded the City of Zagreb Excellence Scholarship

The Zagreb School of Economics and Management (ZSEM) proudly announces that eight of its students have been awarded the City of Zagreb Excellence Scholarship, one of the most prestigious recognitions granted to students for outstanding academic achievements, engagement, and potential.

This accomplishment is particularly significant as it highlights not only the quality of work, dedication, and ambition of ZSEM students but also the inspiring academic environment that enables them to develop in diverse directions – from research and entrepreneurship to sports and international experiences.

Below, we present brief profiles of the students whose hard work and excellence have been recognized with this scholarship.

Antonio Zwicker

Antonio Zwicker is a third-year Economics and Management student in the English-language program and an active competitive swimmer. As an athlete with a very demanding schedule, he successfully balances intensive training with academic responsibilities thanks to his high level of organization and the support provided by ZSEM.

Studying in English allows him to develop international competencies and opens doors to future student exchanges and further education abroad. Antonio highlights the understanding of professors and the flexibility of the school as key factors that enable him to achieve excellence both in sports and in his studies.

Lovro and Marin Lesić

Twin brothers Lovro and Marin Lesić have stood out for their academic excellence and outstanding engagement in the student community since the beginning of their studies at ZSEM. Driven by the idea that students should actively create opportunities, they co-founded the Student Financial and Investment Club (SFIC) together with their peers. Today, the club brings together over 100 members and organizes guest lectures, visits to financial institutions, and participation in international events.

They have further enriched their education through a student exchange at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and plan to spend a semester at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. With a series of professional internships and an award-winning research paper submitted to the HANFA competition, Lovro and Marin demonstrate how a combination of knowledge, initiative, and collaboration can lead to remarkable success.
