Ljerka Mintas Hodak, PhD, was born in Zagreb, Croatia, in 1952. She graduated from the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Law, in 1975. She attained her Master of Science degree and afterwards earned a PhD in Maritime Law from the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Law, in 1989. She passed the Barr exam in 1979 and gained professional experience as an attorney at law. From 1980 to 1991, she worked as a research assistant in the Yugoslav Academy of Science and Art – Department of Maritime Science. From 1991. she becomes active in politics executing many functions (adviser to the President of the Republic of Croatia, Vice President of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, first Minister of European integration, Representative in Croatian Parliament, etc.).
Ljerka Mintas Hodak was appointed to Zagreb School of Economics and Management in 2004. She is a co-founder of the Zagreb School of Economics and Management, founder of its Law Department. She has introduced and designed a curriculum of legal disciplines and now teaches four courses: Principles of Law, Commercial Law, Introduction to the European Union and Legal Environment of Business. She has designed a curriculum of legal discipline at the MBA Management at ZSEM.
