He graduated in economics from the Faculty of Foreign Trade in Zagreb in 1980. In 1994, he obtained the title of Master of Science at the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb, where he received his doctorate in 1999. He received professional training at the University of British Columbia in Canada in 1998. At the Zagreb Institute of Economics in 2007, he was elected to the scientific title of scientific associate, and in 2012 as a scientific advisor. In February 2015 he was elected to the position of assistant professor in the field of social sciences at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Zagreb.
From 2015 to the present, he has been teaching Sustainable Development at the postgraduate study of the Zagreb School of Economics and Management. From 2009-2019. taught the course Environment and Sustainable Development at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb. From 2008-2014. he taught the course “Market Research” first at the Zagreb Business School and later at the Zagreb School of Economics and Management. From 2020-2023, he participated in the Doctor of Business Administration program at Sheffield Business School. He teaches at the Summer School “Leveraging Ecological Economics to advance the Sustainability Transition”, University of Pisa, Faculty of Economics.
From 1999-2020, he was the director of GfK-center for market research d.o.o., the Croatian branch of the multinational Group GfK. He participated in the founding of the Croatian Business Council for Sustainable Development, where he was a member of the Board of Directors for a number of years. In 2020, he was appointed as a member of the Economic Council of the President of the Republic of Croatia.
