Sciences Po Paris, located in the heart of Paris, is a selective and diverse French university specializing in the humanities and social sciences. It was established in February 1872 as the École Libre des Sciences Politiques by Émile Boutmy, French political scientist and sociologist. Sciences Po is generally considered one of the world’s most prestigious schools of the social sciences and has educated France’s political and diplomatic elite. It has 11000 students and 42% of students are international. Also, it has 350 partner universities worldwide and 35 dual degrees.

The Country

The City

It is located in the north of France on the river Seine and has the reputation of being the most romantic city. The city contains numerous iconic landmarks, such as the world’s most visited tourist site the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Louvre Museum, Moulin Rouge, Lido etc.Paris is one of the largest agglomerations in Europe with almost 12 million people living in the whole metropolitan area.

Also, it is home to the world’s finest and most luxurious fashion designers and cosmetics, such as Chanel, Dior, Yves Saint-Laurent, Guerlain, Lancôme, L’Oréal, Clarins, etc.

Student life

Sciences Po is located in the heart of Paris, near the Seine River, so it does not have housing on campus for its students. Students have to make arrangements to find their own accommodation but Sciences Po offers many information and advices to help students find their accommodation. Also, students can use listings registry made only available to its students, where landlords may post housing offers free of charge.

Travel opportunities

France has been the world’s most popular tourist destination for over twenty years. It has beautiful beaches, high mountains, finest historic monuments, magnificent castles and many more. With 3,800 national monuments in and around Paris, you will have the opportunity to explore. Also, Palace of Versailles is located just 20 km away from the capital. While studying in France you can go on a short weekend city breaks in places such as Nice, Lille, Nantes or Bordeaux. Trains are a great way to get around in France. You can get pretty much from anywhere to anywhere else by train. For interregional trains you can book tickets online at
