Nova School of Business and Economics was created in 1978 and is located in central Lisbon with easy access to public transport, services and cultural areas. Since 2009 Nova SBE has been in the ranking of the most prestigious schools in Portugal and has a worldwide reputation, with an excellent level of higher education and research in economics. Nova SBE is best known for its outstanding academic achievements, which reflect the intellectual quality of its students and teachers. It is the place for research with exciting faculty, activities and projects. Within its internationalization strategy Nova SBE is constantly signing new bilateral agreements with schools all over the world. Currently there are agreements in place with more than 150 schools from 50 countries all over the world.

The Country

Portugal is a unitary semi-presidential republic. It is located in South-Western Europe, on the Iberian Peninsula, and it is the westernmost country of mainland Europe, being bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the west and south and by Spain to the north and east. The City

Lisbon is the westernmost large city located in Europe and the only one along the Atlantic coast, with a population of 547,631 within its administrative limits. It lies in the western Iberian Peninsula on the Atlantic Ocean and the River Tagus. The typical summer season lasts about six months, from May to October. Alcântara and Barrio Alto are areas in Lisbon very attractive to youth because of the number of pubs and discothèques. Torre de Belem is the most famous tower in Lisbon, built as afortified lighthouse to guard the entrance to the port.Other major historical building are the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos and Padrão dos Descobrimentos. Parque das Nações is pedestrian-friendly area with new buildings, restaurants, gardens, the Casino Lisbon, the FIL building (International Exhibition and Fair), the Camões Theatre, as well as the Oceanário de Lisboa (Lisbon Oceanarium), the second largest in the world.
