IPADE Business School (IPADE), (PanAmerican Institute for High Business Direction) is the business school of Universidad Panamericana, or Pan-American University, a private university in Mexico.

The institute, from which the university came out later, was founded in 1967 by a notable group of Mexican businessmen. More than 31,000 alumni many of them CEOs of Mexican and international companies, have passed through the Institute, which features primarily in the learning experience the use of cases. There is a strong philosophical insight for the businessman’s chores and duties within the organization. IPADE has a Christian orientation, entrusted to the Opus Dei prelature. Besides its campus in Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey IPADE organizes alternate and itinerant MBA courses throughout the republic. The building in which IPADE holds its Mexico City campus is the seventeenth century Hacienda de San Antonio Clavería. IPADE is the first institution in Mexico seeking to achieve business management excellence as a core task, while embedding it in a process featuring high quality knowledge, practice and focused on the development of management skills.

The Country

The United Mexican States is a federal republic composed of 32 federal entities: 31 states and 1 federal district. It is bordered on the north by the United States of America; on the south and west by the Pacific Ocean; on the southeast by Guatemala, Belize, and the Caribbean Sea; and on the east by the Gulf of Mexico. With an estimated population of over 113 million it is most populous Spanish-speaking country in the world.

Mexico has one of the world’s most diverse weather systems. The Tropic of Cancer effectively divides the country into temperate and tropical zones. The City

Mexico is the capital of United Mexican States and is the country’s largest city as well as its most important political, cultural, educational and financial center. It is located in the Valley of Mexico, a large valley in the high plateaus at the center of Mexico. The 2009 estimated population for the city proper was around 8.84 million people. According to the most recent definition agreed upon by the federal and state governments, the Greater Mexico City population is 21.2 million people, making it the largest metropolitan area in the western hemisphere and the largest Spanish-speaking city in the world. Mexico City has a subtropical highland climate and the average annual temperature varies from 12 to 16 °C (54 to 61 °F).

Degree available

Full-time MBA (MEDE). It is a two year full-time program for students with at least two years’ work experience. The program fosters managerial skills and prepares to think and lead globally through its deep international focus, broad executive network, and strong emphasis in general management and social responsibility.

Executive MBA (MEDEX). Designed for executives and entrepreneurs holding seven year- experience at least, who have been holding top management positions for no less than three years in the corporations where they work. This is a two year part-time program specially planned for people facing daily challenges in their performance as directors of national and multinational firms in Mexico. These professionals are trying to bring their managerial skills to the next level by caring for their work-life balance.

Travel Opportunities

Although Mexico City is renowned for its massive size and excessive pollution, crime and traffic, travelers who venture to the capital of Mexico will be rewarded with some impressive sights and sounds. As one of the largest cities in the world,
there are museums, archaeological sites, historical buildings and bustling markets to occupy a visitor for months on end.

  • Metropolitan Cathedral – the enormous cathedral on the North side of the Zocalo was built over a period of 250 years and has a mixture of architectural styles.
  • National Palace -the main attraction here is Diego Rivera’s murals depicting thousands of years of Mexican history.
  • Xochimilco – the chinampas, or “floating gardens” of the Aztecs were an ingenious agricultural technique to create arable land on the lake.
  • Teotihuacan – it is archaeological site where you can see the Temple of Quetzalcoatl, walk along the Avenue of the Dead, climb the Pyramid of the Sun and Pyramid of the Moon only about 25 miles outside of Mexico City.
