Dear students, graduates, and parents,
We hope you and your loved ones are healthy, safe and sound.
Due to the pandemic of the coronavirus and the strong earthquake that struck Zagreb, we are facing new challenges.
A statistician from the Civil Protection of the City of Zagreb inspected the main ZSEM building and found that, despite the visible damage, the building of our school was not structurally damaged. The three other buildings on the ZSEM campus; the Dean’s office and Library building, the MBA building as well as the FFRZ building; did not suffer major damage.
We are confident in your and our ability to overcome obstacles and face these challenges together. As always, we show a unique and strong ZSEM community, capable of responding to the most challenging crises regardless of circumstances and distance.
The complete ZSEM e-learning system that we have been building for years enables the smooth holding of online lectures and all other teaching activities such as midterm exams, exams, consultations, project assignments, and defense of final and graduate thesis according to the regular schedule. As usual, all ZSEM services are at your disposal – but for a while, only virtually.
The entrance examination will be also held online on Saturday, April 18th, 2020. We will inform the applicants of the detailed instructions on how to access the online entrance examination by e-mail.
ZSEM is the first institution of higher education which ensures smoothly maintaining online classes for all students for the next 30 days, and if necessary, we will continue to provide online classes and other teaching activities.
Distance learning is something ZSEM has been known for since its founding in 2002 and is further enhanced by the fact that ebook24.com, the largest Croatian e-bookstore for business and economics literature, is available to every student in addition to the Mate Publishing House textbooks.
ZSEM has been systematically using e-learning and the LMS (Learning Management System) which makes the teaching materials of all courses available to all our students and teachers.
Responsibly anticipating that the entire teaching process will have to take place online over some time, we have further prepared and enriched the content and tools we use for online learning. Except Loomen, we also use other platforms that provide our students with the highest quality education, such as the Zoom application that enables synchronous lectures, the Loom application that enables recording of lectures, and many others.
We would like to inform you that ZSEM continues its work, prioritizing the safety of our students and staff, and the achievement of all academic standards as before.
We will continue to monitor the situation, make the necessary adjustments and keep you informed promptly.
