Dean Mato Njavro, Phd, meets with french president Emmanuel Macron

On Thrursday 25th of November 2021. our dean Mato Njavro, Ph.D., attended a gala lunch at the Esplanade Hotel in Zagreb on the occasion of the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron. In the presence of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, he had the honor of meeting and speaking with President Emmanuel Macron.

The Zagreb School of Economics and Management is the only educational institution in Croatia that has signed cooperation agreements with 13 French universities. These include some of the most prestigious universities in France, such as EDHEC, ESSEC, EMLYON, KEDGE, and SciencesPo Paris – the alma mater university of French President Emmanuel Macron. So far, more than 400 French students have studied at ZSEM, while more than 100 ZSEM students have spent their student exchange in France. We are incredibly proud that in our summer program, “International Summer School” one of the most numerous groups of students comes from France, from the University of EDHEC. Furthermore, the most significant number of ZSEM alumni living outside Croatia is located in France, which reflects the high international presence and long-term partnership with French universities.

ZSEM is proud of its French-Croatian connection, which includes certificates of our quality in addition to partnerships with prestigious French universities. For 14 years in a row, the french rating agency Eduniversal has awarded the Zagreb School of Economics and Management as the best business school in Croatia. At the Eduniversal World Convention 2018 conference, the Zagreb School of Economics and Management was named the third best business school in Eastern Europe. We are proud to point out that according to this research, ZSEM is not only the best business school in Croatia, but it is also the only one included in category 4 Palme, which represents the excellence of business schools with significant international influence.

This year, the French Ambassador to Croatia, Gaël Veyssiere, welcomed French students who were at the time on a student exchange at the Zagreb School of Economics and Management. At the reception, the students had the opportunity to ask the Ambassador and Dean of ZSEM important questions about French-Croatian relations, education, and the importance of international experience.
