Competition for the Excellence Award

The Zagreb School of Economics and Management (ZŠEM), in collaboration with the Association of Croatian American Professionals (ACAP), announces the Competition for the Excellence Award.
The award is granted to students who, through their academic excellence and achievements, contribute to the development of educational, scientific, social, and international excellence values.

Winners of the Competition are:

  2. Artemiy Teplov
  3. Tomislav Hrkač

 

Excellence Award Ceremony

The Zagreb School of Economics and Management, in collaboration with ACAP, will host the Excellence Award Ceremony on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 10:30 AM on the ZSEM campus.

The award recognizes three students who, in addition to their outstanding academic achievements, have demonstrated exceptional contributions in the fields of social responsibility, scientific accomplishments, international engagement, athletic excellence, or by promoting social sensitivity.

On this occasion, the awarded students will receive a certificate of achievement and financial support of 2,000 USD. Additionally, they will have the opportunity for further professional development through collaboration with the Association of Croatian American Professionals (ACAP).

 

General Eligibility Criteria

To participate in the competition, candidates must meet the following general criteria:

  • Academic Excellence
  • A minimum grade point average of 4.50 at the time of application
  • All courses from previous academic years successfully completed

 

Additional Selection Criteria (advantage given)

In addition to academic excellence, candidates who meet one or more of the following criteria will have an added advantage:

  • A. Social Responsibility and Engagement
    • Active participation in student organizations, humanitarian efforts, volunteer activities, or projects that benefit the community.
    • Evidence of organizing or leading significant initiatives within local or international communities.
  • B. Scientific Achievements
    • Published scientific papers in relevant journals or conference proceedings.
    • Participation in scientific projects or winning awards in scientific competitions.
    • Presentation of papers at national and international conferences.
  • C. International Involvement
    • Participation in international student exchange programs (e.g., Erasmus+).
    • Active involvement in international conferences, competitions, or workshops.
    • Promoting ZSEM in an international setting through academic or professional activities.
  • D. Sports Excellence
    • Medals, awards, or recognitions won at national or international sports competitions.
    • Active membership in university sports teams with proven contributions to their success.
    • Participation in sports events that promote the values of sportsmanship and a healthy lifestyle.
  • E. Social Sensitivity
    • Special consideration for candidates from large families or families with lower income, aiming to support those in disadvantaged socio-economic positions.

Required Documentation

Candidates are required to submit the following:

  • Official GPA Statement issued by the Student Services Office.
  • Motivation Letter (up to 500 words) on the topic: How My Contributions Reflect ZŠEM’s Values and Excellence in Education.
  • Proof of Achievements, including:
    • Certificates of participation in social, scientific, international, and sports activities.
    • Publications, certificates, photos, or letters of recommendation (if applicable).

Deadline: Applications are open until December 10, 2024.

Announcement of Results

The names of the winners will be announced on ZSEM’s official website and bulletin boards on December 17, 2024.

Award Details

The Excellence Award includes:

  • A certificate recognizing the achievements.
  • Financial support of $2,000 per student (for three students).
  • Opportunities to collaborate with ACAP through networking and professional development.

Collaboration with ACAP

Winners are invited to volunteer a minimum of 10 hours annually in ACAP activities, fostering their professional and personal growth through international collaboration.
