Zhongnan University of Economics and Law is located in Wuhan, a metropolis of
Central China.
It is an institution of higher education under the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China with economics, law, and management as its core disciplines. These are coordinated with the development of eight other disciplines including literature, history,
philosophy, engineering, etc. ZUEL is also one of the universities sponsored by “211 project”, which is the Chinese government’s new endeavor aimed at strengthening about 100 institutions of higher education and key disciplinary areas as a national priority for the 21st century. Wuhan is the capital of the Hubei province – a modern metropolis with unlimited
possibilities, situated in the heart of China. Wuhan is an energetic city, a commercial centre of finance, industry, trade and science, with many international companies located here. Having scientific, technological and educational institutions such as Laser City and the Wuhan University, the city is also an intellectual centre. Situated at the crossroads of central China, Wuhan is a transportation hub for air, railway as well as ferry traffic. The distance from Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou is more or less equal. And the giant Yangtse River, the world’s third longest river, and the Han River pass through the city.
International students will live in the International Student House of ZUEL. All the rooms are
equipped with such facilities as air-conditioning, bathroom, telephone, and color TV. Student
canteens are available to International students with prepaid magnetic food cards.
Wuhan is an amalgamation of three smallercities, Hankou, Hanyang and Wuchang, each separated from the other by a river. Wuhan is a major railway hub, connected by direct trains with most of China’s major cities. With Wuhan as the center, the distance from Wuhan to other major cities such as Beijing and Tianjin in the north, Guangzhou and Shenzhen in the south, Shanghai and Hangzhou in the east, and Chengdu and Xi’an in the west are all under 1,200 kilometers.
