Bojan Galić, a former student of the Zagreb School of Economics and Management (ZSEM), proudly recalls his path through the academic world and his career. During his studies, Bojan was on the dean’s list all four years, which is a testament to his expertise and dedication. This successful alumni of ZSEM currently holds the position of Country Manager for the Adriatic HUB in Straumann Group Adriatic, a position he assumed last year and thus became the youngest Country Manager in the history of Straumann, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year.
When he decided that economics was his right path, Bojan’s father, full of business experience, made an analysis of the faculty and recommended ZSEM to him. “ZSEM stood out for the quality of its teaching staff and literature, and it became my first and only choice,” emphasizes Bojan.
For his MBA program, he chose the course Supply Chain Management, under the guidance of Professor Kristina Šorić. His interest in an interdisciplinary approach was a key motivating factor, and this choice perfectly coincided with the development of the family business in which he participated – the opening of a logistics center for dental consumables.
Bojan remembers the most challenging moment during the MBA program when he had to balance work obligations, college, and private life at the same time. “It seemed like an impossible mission at the time, but now I can say that I succeeded,” he emphasizes. Today, he does what he loves, and at the same time, he can boast of a successful family.
According to Bojan, one of the most valued components of the MBA program is the professors. “Most professors come from practice, and their knowledge and experience are invaluable,” he adds. During his studies, he especially appreciated Professor Andrej Grubišić, with whom he continued to collaborate even after completing his studies.
Bojan also participated in a student exchange in Reutlingen, at the ESB Business School, where he had the opportunity to combine theory and practice. This program enabled him to make valuable acquaintances and expand his horizons.
For future MBA students, Bojan advises them to take advantage of all the opportunities the program offers, including exchanges. “It’s an ideal place to make connections and expand your horizons,” he says.
After completing his studies, Bojan assumed key positions in his family business and then joined Straumann Group Adriatic. During his work, the MBA program provided him with the foundations that he later built on through specialist programs, such as the one at IMD in Lausanne, focusing on digital transformation.
Bojan Galić is an example of success and courage, and his journey through ZŠEM and the business world once again confirms the importance of education, experience, and continuous improvement. All in all, Bojan hopes to be able to participate in future ZŠEM events, in order to continue connecting and sharing his experiences with students and colleagues.
